Prohibition of External Food and Beverage Deliveries to Schools for Students

POLICY: Los Angeles Unified is committed to supporting schools and offices as they
maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment. When food/beverages are
delivered to schools using various delivery applications that have not been
approved by the District, this does not comply with federal, state, and District
food service requirements and also presents several safety concerns.
MAJOR
CHANGES:
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide guidelines for school site principals
regarding the District’s food/beverage delivery policy for students which
includes, but is not limited to the services of popular food-delivery applications
as well as individual restaurant delivery.
GUIDELINES: The delivery of fast food/beverages for students is strictly prohibited as it is not
consistent with school food service requirements, and it causes disruption to the
school environment and the safety and well-being of students and employees.
