Parent Center
At 8:10 a.m., the bell rings each school day and children on Leapwood’s campus are greeting their teachers, staff and classmates while eagerly awaiting the day’s lessons. In the Parent Center, coffee, conversaton and information is there for our parents and guardians to help advocate for their little ones and navigate through LAUSD.
In this center, parents can find the support needed to enhance their children’s education. Someone is there each morning, greeting them, encouraging them, and helping them. District mandated workshops are facilitated by our Parent Representative and contracted agency personnel. Topics vary and are provided to inform and enhance parenting and other related skills.
This refuge is essential to the learning environment at Leapwood. We know that empowered parents have a dynamic impact on the academic success of our students. So, we've created this hub just for parents, guardians and community members - a place to commune, gather, and volunteer. The Leapwood Avenue Elemenatry Parent Center is where information, current events and volunteer opportunities begin.
